Fear Thy Neighbor: Review

For a change of pace, I read Fear They Neighbor, which is neither dystopian nor post-apocalyptic (unless you have a much more cynical view of Florida than I do). The protagonist has scraped together savings for years and is looking to start a new life. Events lead her to a small town short of her original destination (the Keys). She ends up solving a series of mysteries that threaten her new-found peaceful existence and recent friends.

While some of the plot lines are as dark as many dystopian novels, it was a great palate-cleanser to read a book where the general assumption is that life should and could end up happy and relaxed.

Overall, Fear Thy Neighbor was a quick, entertaining read. A great summer beach book, perhaps.
