Three Miles Down: Review

Three Miles Down by Harry Turtledove is an intriguing sci-fi drama that is based on a true story. In the 1970's, the CIA commissioned a gigantic ship to secretly raise a Russian sub from the deep sea floor. In this novel, the author takes the interesting true story and adds a twist: the sub was sunken by an extraterrestrial vehicle that is lying near it on the ocean floor. The protagonist becomes deeply involved as the ship interacts with the alien craft and its contents. But that's just the beginning, as the US government seeks to control the world-changing information discovered from the expedition.

I thoroughly enjoyed Three Miles Down and definitely recommend it. Additionally, if you find the parts based on the real Glomar Global Explorer interesting, there is much more information available, including the documentary Azorian: The Raising of the K-129.
