xstroke is an elegant but lockup-prone application that provides
handwriting entry and recognition. Its documentation and handwriting
recognition are superb. Unfortunately on my Familiar 0.5/iPaq 3765
system, xstroke sometimes (1 in 500 strokes, very approximately),
becomes stuck in stroke mode, requiring a reboot to recover. I know
use xkbd instead of xstroke.
Pros
Handwriting recognition is accurate and efficient (low CPU impact).
Cool Factor: Stroke rendered full-screen over apps with a shadow.
Documentation of strokes and options is detailed and thorough.
