Using a USB/Ethernet Adapter with the XO Laptop
Using a USB/Ethernet Adapter with the XO Laptop
Using a wired ethernet connection with the XO Laptop from OLPC
couldn't be easier. I used a generic $15 adapter from Fry's and it
worked out of the box with no problems.
I plugged in the USB/Ethernet adapter partway through the boot
cycle. The XO recognized it, provided power to it, and used DHCP to
setup network access automatically. (The wired connection was eth1.)
I was instantly able to use the Browse application to visit websites.
