The Running Processes

There are several processes running in the PhotoBridge. This list identifies them and explains what they are for:
  • cascade: ?
  • ntpd: The Network Time Protocol daemon. This keeps the PhotoBridge clock accurate.
  • taskview: [The main GUI?]
  • screenmon: ?
  • fpbuttons: The front-panel button handler. Can be removed to save memory if you don't use the front-panel buttons
  • irremote: The remote-control button-press handler. Can also be removed if desired.
  • readable-mounts: [Scans shares to keep GUI current?]
  • mpegd: ?
