Becoming a Gated Community

Some residents have expressed interest in changing to a gated community. This has been investigated a number of times and for the following reasons has been found to be infeasible:

100% of homeowners from 5 communities would have to agree. More
Gate locations are problematic
The financial burden would be excessive
- Start-up costs in the thousands of dollars per house
- Extra monthly fees in the hundreds of dollars
- Added financial liability to maintain streets and security

The city has told us that all of the homeowners would have to agree
