Mailboxes and the CC&Rs

Security

Our current mailboxes suffer from a couple of security-erlated deficiencies:

The design allows thieves to steal mail by simply reaching their hand in the mail slot.
The post is narrow and weak, making them prime targets for vandals who knock over mailboxes.

Short-Term

Short-term fixes include parking your car in front of your mailbox at night to prevent vandalism and removing mail promptly to thwart mail thieves.

Long-Term

Long-term fixes are made challenging by the ADA requirements for sidewalk width and the desire of the board to keep all mailboxes consistent in the community.
