New Business

A speed hump is being installed within 90 days of April 22(?).

Vandalism

Recently car windows were smashed at 3:30AM, including The police chased the vandals in a stolen white Ford Bronco. The suspects ran and got away.

Last Saturday a house was egged at 5AM. The police came at 10AM with 3 cars.

Stan's car had $5300 dollars of damage, including several windows and a mirror.

Friday night 4 mailboxes were knocked down.

On Saturday lights were smashed in a yard.

Neighborhood Watch

In Studio City some groups have watch patrols.

Barry said that "Peter Marino doesn't know what to do."

Barry: Mr. Hughes says that we could get volunteers together.

Mark indicated that some others in the neighborhood might be interested in participating in a watch.

Fred: motion detector recorders are springing up, and may help in the future.

One resident in attendance mentioned that vandals were caught in the past, the DA prosecuted, but the judge let them off very lightly.

Barry asked Mark if he was interested in volunteering on a second subcommittee.

Proposed Nearby High School

Barry: the nearby temple wants to start a high school.

Barry is worried about traffic and house values.

Barry: "we're over budget on mail - big deal"

The board can make people aware of HS, they said.

The West Hills Neighborhood Council website has a traffic study.

The HOA donated $2000 to fight Mystic Ridge.

Now it will give the same amount to "educate" people on the new high school.

Guard Gate

Gating: They've considered a guard gate like at hidden lake, where there is a guard only at night.

Elections

The board stated that the annual meeting is held every March, a fact clearly contradicted by the notes from the last election, in November 2002.

Landscaping

Brush clearance will be done in June to comply with Fire Department regulations.

Tom let the board know about weeds growing up behind his house.

Nearby Development

Kaufman and Broad is building 20 or so new homes across from the Fields Market.
