Fixing a Brother Printer under Fedora
Background and Starting Point
If you are having any problems with Brother printers under Linux,
first check out the Brother
Printer Drivers web page. Brother has done an excellent job
supporting Linux and you may just find your answer there.
What to Check if it Stops Working
I had my printing all set up and working fine. Then at some point I
did a yum update and it stopped working. After looking in my logs I
found a ghostscript error. This post helped me fix my printer. Simply comment out the
/etc/cups/ppd/printername.ppd
line:
*DefaultOutputOrder: Reverse
Like this:
*%DefaultOutputOrder: Reverse
Then issue /etc/init.d/cups restart
and you should be
able to print again.
