Hardware

These components are minimum specifications:

AMD Athlon XP 2800+ "Barton", 333MHz FSB, 128K L1 Cache, 512K L2 Cache
pcHDTV HD-3000 Card
A7N8X-E Deluxe Athlon XP/Barton Socket A/462 motherboard
2x 250 GB, SATA 150, 7200RPM, 8MB buffer Hard Drive
2x 256 MB 184-pin DDR400/PC3200 SDRAM
Cheap Video Card, like ATI RAGE 128PRO Video Card, 32MB SDR, 4X AGP

It is not difficult to purchase these components separately and assemble them yourselves, along with a case, cooling fans, and a DVD drive.

Samba for audio and video file serving
SlimServer for audio streaming
pchdtvr for better-than VCR HDTV recording control
ATSC tools that come with the HD-3000
DVD backup and authoring tools
