New Home Construction off Overland

Construction is going slowly of the new homes being built on the hill south of Overland.

An owner reported that the bare hillsides had been hydro-seeded to little effect -- the rain quickly washed away the green layer of hydro-seed.

Several residents expressed concern over the narrow street being built in the new development. It doesn't seem like there is room to pass another car. Furthermore, some worried that cars might end up parking on Overland.

The developer is forbidden from washing down the street, since the runoff flows to the ocean. Instead the developer now must sweep the street clean.

A Mr. Bernstein(sp?) is the owner.

Some of the homes are sold, but exactly how many is unknown. Some thought many, others thought just a couple. There was a waiting list when the project began.

Peeling Paint

Some homes with peeling paint had been identified.

All owners with peeling paint have been notified and are taking care of the problem.

Enforcement of Trash Can Policy

There is good compliance with the new trash can policy (cans must be stored behind the side gate or completely out of sight).

5 homes are not yet in compliance and are being worked with.

Fining of homes that are not in compliance will begin starting at the end of the month.
