Librera is Great for Annotating Books
Librera lets you easily make notes on an e-book for sharing. I tried several options, and while many apps allow you to take notes, few allow you to export them in bulk. If you are making notes for sharing, for example while proofreading a novel for someone, most apps fall short. Librera makes it easy to make notes on selections, then export them later in a single file.Where Other Apps Fall Short
Other apps have note-taking ability. However, most seem to lock you in to coming back to the app to see the notes. Whether intentional or an oversight, this greatly limits most apps utility for proofreading or simply sharing extensive notes. Apps like Book Reader, Kindle, and Play Books may let you make notes. They may even let you search for notes and color-code notes. However, none allow easy export or sharing. Everything has to be done one note at a time. Why Librera Shines
At first glance, Librera looks similar to the rest. You can select text and add a note. You can color-code. However, Librera has a menu item to browse all notes, with a hamburger menu item to share the full collection. This key feature allows you to take notes as you review a book, then export them all to yourself or to the author, if you are proofreading.Copyright © 2026 Andrew Oliver
