Democracy In America: Review

Democracy in America is the debut novel from Peter N. Oliver. Set in the late 1970's, it covers the dramatic events leading up to a presidential election from the perspective of a seasoned newspaper reporter. During a hotly contested primary season, the reporter uncovers a scandal that strikes at the heart of one candidate's ethical standing. Paired with a dogged but rookie reporter, can they unearth conclusive evidence before the election renders it moot? Can they avoid the candidate's henchmen, motivate apathetic government apparatchiks, and avoid the ire of their editors?

This dramatic freshman work is full of 70's atmosphere and in-depth political maneuverings. It is a must for fans of political intrigue, or anyone who lived through the 70's.
