Exiles: Review

Exiles by Mason Coile is a quick, intense story of a team of astronauts sent to Mars to set up a colony. Set slightly in the future, intelligent humanoid robots were sent ahead with the habitat to set it up for the humans arriving on a later flight. However, when the humans arrive they find that the base is partially in shambles, and the robots have developed personality disorders, paranoia, and conflicts, with one missing completely. Even worse, something is periodically attacking the habitat, and it's not clear if its the rogue robot or something else entirely.

At its heart, this story is timeless: a small group trapped, with limited information and visibility, with a malevolent party out to get them. The setting and sci-fi elements are novel and make this an interesting, tension-filled read.
